I offer individual sessions, not couples therapy. The relationship can be the subject of the work, but the focus remains your experience, position, limits and choices.
When the same conflict keeps returning
Some couples repeat a familiar cycle: one person pursues while the other withdraws; criticism produces defence; silence increases anxiety; attempts to obtain reassurance create more distance. The visible disagreement changes, but the underlying movement remains the same.
What the relationship awakens
A disproportionate reaction often contains more than the current moment. Anger may protect fear of abandonment. Silence may protect against humiliation. Control may hide the terror of depending on someone. Individual work helps distinguish the present relationship from the older emotional history activated within it.
The aim is not to blame the other person or make yourself more acceptable. It is to speak and choose from a less wounded place, with clearer awareness of desire, dependency, limits and responsibility.
Not every relationship should be preserved
Therapy is not automatically about saving a couple. It may support reconnection, separation, boundary-setting or recognition that something is no longer possible. The practitioner should not decide this in your place.
When a relationship involves violence, coercive control, threats or repeated humiliation, safety comes before improved communication. Seek local specialist support and emergency protection where necessary.
Clarify your place in the relationship
You can work individually even if your partner does not wish to attend therapy.
